Nellie Carlson and the Indian Rights for Indian Women movement

Nellie Carlson helped restore the treaty rights of hundreds of thousands of disinherited Indigenous people across Canada. Along with a group of fiery, determined women who had also had their treaty status taken away when they married non-status Indian men, Nellie fought for decades to redress this injustice.
