The Edmonscona Plan

Edmonton has one of the most satisfying and easy-to-understand street naming systems in Canada. The city is a giant grid, and almost every address will tell you immediately which street/avenue intersection is closest. But this was not always the case. The Edmonscona Plan was one of many street-naming systems proposed in Edmonton’s early days, and it is absolutely charming.
