NATO Public Diplomacy Division

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization is a vast and complex international institution which does crucial work in many different areas. The purpose of the Public Diplomacy Division at NATO HQ is quite simply to explain all of this work to the average citizen, and also to counteract any propaganda from hostile actors who seek to undermine the solidarity of the North Atlantic Alliance.

As a communications officer at NATO, my work involves project management of a diverse array of multimedia products. I work with a large range of internal stakeholders and external contractors to create the content on NATO’s digital channels — from detailed information on NATO’s website to cute military dog videos on the @NATO Instagram.

Some highlights of my work include supervising the creation of the website for the Secretary General’s NATO 2030 initiative, developing the NATO Science series of videos to communicate about the Alliance’s support for cutting-edge scientific innovation in an ironic vintage style, and producing the video to mark NATO’s 70th anniversary (see below).
