The Weather Woman of the West: Eda Owen and the Highlands Dominion Meteorological Station

The Highlands is one of Edmonton’s best kept secrets—a neighbourhood of curio shops and rambling old mansions. I once dragged a friend on a Highlands neighbourhood walking tour based on a 1993 booklet I found in my grandma’s house, and this was how I learned about Eda Owen, Canada’s first female meteorological officer.
